Note that the index does not include companies from the financial sector. The history of the index begins in 1985 when 2 new indexes were simultaneously introduced: NASDAQ-100 and NASDAQ Financial-100. The first one included industrial high-tech companies, the second – financial ones. The #US100 index was started to trade from 250 points. The historical maximum of over 4,700 points was reached by the index in 2000 on the dotcom wave. Actually, futures is a standardized forward contract to buy or sell an asset at a predetermined price at a specified time, known as an expiration date.
